Explore Nature at Her Finest While Visiting Batemans Bay

Covering nearly 12,000 hectares of largely undisturbed coastline, Murramarang National Park offers its visitors an incredible view of majestic seascapes, rugged headlands, and four islands to explore. Pebbly Beach, located within the Park, is extremely popular – partially because of its incredible beauty but possibly because of the fascinating symbiotic relationship between the wildlife and humans.

It is not unusual to see the grey kangaroo on the beach. What may seem unusual is the ability to pet these wondrous animals. Even the native birds fly onto the arms of visitors to get a treat or two.

Take an interesting bush walk through the magical forests or along the pristine waters of unspoiled beaches. With more than 400 species of flora, 200 plus native species of birds, including parrots, and more than 39 native mammal species, there is no telling just what you may encounter on your walk.

Batemans Bay lies on the estuary of the Clyde River and at one time was a bustling timber and fishing town. Today, it is a thriving holiday centre. Clyde River oysters are a mainstay of the community. Connoisseurs of oysters, frequently hail those from Clyde River as the best in the world.

Whether you prefer to explore the beaches, the miles of serene bush walks, fabulous fishing, petting kangaroos, or playing golf, there is something for visitors of every age to do here.

Take a cruise on the Clyde River, traversing from the Bay through the National Park and State Forest, while relaxing under the glistening Australian sun as you experience a diverse and every changing landscape of peaceful tranquility.

You will want to stop at South Coast Glass to discover some of the most spectacular flora and fauna – made of fine glass! Bill’s leadlight and stained glass works are simply delightful.
