Batemans Bay Australia Is A Popular Beach Destination for Everyone

In the southern coastal area of New South Whales Australia, roughly 151 kilometres South East of the national capital city of Canberra, you will find a gem of a town named Batemans Bay. The extraordinary facilities for bathing, fishing, and surfing make this a popular holiday destination for everyone.

With dozens of beaches on and around Batemans Bay, whatever you prefer to do on and near the water is available at one or more of them. Within the area known as Murramarang National Park, Pebbly Beach is probably the most frequented by tourists and locals alike. The large expanse of majestic seascapes, unspoiled beach, pristine waters and visits by the grey kangaroo and multiple native birds (such as parrots and others) landing on your arms as they seek out attention and treats are enough to get anyone’s attention.

Depot Beach offers rock platforms, spotted gum forests, peaceful bush walks and incredibly spectacular rocky coves to be explored. Depending on the surf and tide, you may want to wade in gentle shallow waters or venture a little further out and catch a few challenging waves.

Surfing beaches are abundant, such as South Durras Beach, Surfside Beach, Denhams Beach, Surf Beach, and Wimbie just to name a few. Some of these beach locations have lifeguards on duty during the summer months, while others do not. Therefore, you will need to check the local beach guides to find out for sure.

Multiple locations allow jet skis, as long as you follow the rules regarding them. The same is true for places such as Long Beach where horses and dogs are allowed with specific regulations.

If you are looking for a place with bbq facilities, picnic tables and playgrounds for the children, you may want to head out to Maloneys Beach, Long Beach, Corrigans Beach or Caseys Beach out at Batehaven.

Of course, these are just a few of the dozens of beaches that stretch along the incredible NSW coastline that spans an area of more than 12,000 hectares. In addition to the massive coastline, surfing, swimming, bathing and spectacular walks that can be enjoyed there is also a thriving boating community.

Boating that ranges from cruising along the coastline, reef, sport and deep-sea fishing to houseboats that provide outstanding accommodations for the total open sea experience are available year round. Whatever your pleasure, there is something for you to do at any of the multiple beaches in this fantastic Bay community.
