Batemans Bay gets real estate thumbs up

Batemans Bay has been ranked as the best performing town in NSW by a
company that monitors movements in the real estate market.
The Eurobodalla was also listed as one of the three fastest growing
regions in NSW.
Residex ranks the Eurobodalla, Wollongong, and Lake Macquarie as the
fastest growing regions in NSW, and says Batemans Bay is the best
performing town.
It says property values in Batemans Bay rose 40 per cent last year and
local real estate agents claim there is no sign of the boom coming to an
end.
Residex managing director John Edwards says high growth rates in
regional areas reflect demand from sea change-seeking retirees and
buyers wanting affordability.
However, local agents say Batemans Bay's emergence as a major regional
commercial centre is also driving growth.
Raine and Horne principal Alex Porteous says the Stockland development
on the former Batemans Bay school site is drawing commercial interest to
the town, while residential property is also keenly sought.
